Jeremiah hides her from her owners, calling her Loni from the scientific designation for otters, knowing she would be destroyed. He even has a battle with a scavenger droid sent after her.
The story ends on a bittersweet note with Loni being fully aware of Jeremiah's character. Beautifully done. |
